Let Me Introduce myself:
My name is Kelly Vinyard & I am blessed with a wonderful husband, Amos and 2 beautiful boys, Alex & Kade. I began serious riding at the age of 8, after seeing my first real horse show. I knew then that a life with horses was the path for me, later competing & winning in a variety of disciplines – locally, regionally & nationally, acquiring multiple High-Point honors along the way.
I started teaching & training other riders, both children & adults, at the age of 14. In 1999 I became a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist and in 2001 I was the youngest person to ever be fully accredited by the American Association of Horsemanship Safety as a nationally certified Riding Instructor. I feel truly blessed that I have been able to share my passion, love & knowledge of horses with my students. I believe that confidence starts within; it’s not simply being able to do, but more importantly believing you CAN DO!
About My Students:
My students range not only in age, but also in interest & skill level. Some of my students have competed & won locally, regionally & nationally in various disciplines. Whether you or your child want to brush up on your skills, enjoy a weekly outing, or have a desire to compete, I welcome the opportunity to work with you!
Lesson programs:
All of my students start on the ground, learning basic handling & grooming techniques, while also learning to read the horse’s body language. Because safety is paramount, it is imperative that students be comfortable & confident on the ground before ever “mounting up.” After learning how to get “tacked up,” we begin our first ride. All students go through balance work, problem solving, & horsemanship theory. Because we all learn differently, each student is then allowed to progress at his/her own pace. I teach a variety of riding disciplines, including, Dressage, Hunter, & Western Riding. Proper Horsemanship Skills are the same – no matter the discipline!
